Strategy Backtesting in TraderCode
ConnectCode is proud to announce the release of TraderCode version 4.0, a comprehensive suite of technical indicators and technical analysis functions for use with Microsoft Excel. This latest version includes a new Backtesting Expert to perform strategy backtesting and performance analysis.
Backtesting is the process of testing a trading strategy using historical data and analyzing how well it has performed. The trading strategy typically involves the use of technical indicators. Through the study of the performance of the strategy, a trader will be able to better gauge his odds of winning in the current market conditions.
The Backtesting Expert can be setup to enter into Long or Short positions when certain conditions occur and exit the positions when another set of conditions are met. By trading automatically on historical data, the model can determine the profitability of a trading strategy very quickly and easily.
This new version also introduces the Trader's Calculator for calculating Stock Beta, Jensen’s Alpha, Porfolio Risk and Assets Correlations of stocks automatically. The calculator is based on a spreadsheet and can thus be easily expanded or integrated with existing trading process. With this information, a typical user is now equipped with the information and tools in an integrated manner that was once only available to a financial analyst.

ConnectCode Barcode Font Pack
ConnectCode barcode fonts enable barcodes in office applications and softwares that support text display. It includes an Add-In for Excel that mass converts rows of data into multiple barcodes.
A barcode font is a specially designed font that allows you to specify and generate barcodes on normal text characters. Using it can be as simple as installing the font, loading up a text editor (like Wordpad or MS Word) and entering the text for the barcodes.
ConnectCode ships with an Encoder that can create images out of the barcode fonts and prepare raw data into a form suitable for barcode encodation. Additionally, a variety of tools, applications and source codes are provided to ease integration with third party products. This includes a Microsoft Office Macros, Crystal Reports Formulas and WPF samples.
The fonts support symbologies such as Code39, Code 39 Extended, Code93, Code 128 Auto, Code128A, Code128B, Code128C, I2of5 (Interleaved 2 of 5), ITF14, EAN 13 (European Article Numbering), EAN 8, UPCA (Universal Product Code), UPCE, UCCEAN, ISBN, ISSN, MSI, Codabar, UPC/EAN Extension 2 and Extension 5 barcodes.
The font pack includes TrueType fonts, PostScript fonts, and OpenType fonts (that can be used in Mac OS). Additionally human readable fonts are also available for Code 39, Code 128B and I2of5 barcodes.

Open Source Add-in for Sparklines Generation in Excel
We are pleased to announce the release of TinyGraphs 1.0, an open source add-in for generating sparklines in Excel. The sparklines, or tiny graphs, are as small as a cell and can be placed next to the items they describe. Multiple number of such graphics present an elegant way for visualizing large quantities of data, such as stock prices and exchange rates.
The TinyGraphs plug-in creates a sparkline for every row of data in a rectangular block of cells. It supports lines, area and column charts and provides options for customizing them. The tiny graphics generated by the plug-in can be further reformatted for more variations, like soft shadows, 3D and glow effects.
TinyGraphs currently supports Excel 2000, 2003 and 2007.
